365 Continued

So Dave and I have began doing the Insanity workout.  This morning marked our second week going!  It has been so fun to get up each morning early with Dave and workout together.  It gets us both going, we have each other to keep accountable, we have fun being together, and we are up and ready to go before the girls are up.  Which was something I wanted to get in place for myself.  Getting up FOR my kids not TO my kids (Inspired to Action).

Last night we had people over to kick off a new life group at our church.  It was so much fun.  I am excited to see what the Lord will do with our group!  After everyone had left I helped myself to seconds of dessert.  I asked Dave if he wanted any and he said that he did not want any because he wanted to make sure that his workouts counted.  Of course, that annoyed me at first.  But as I took bite after bite it sunk in a little more (his words AND the cheesecake!  haha).  I want to make sure all the work I do at 5:30am every morning counts!  Not to lose weight because that is not the goal.  Let's get real....there will be times for Totino's party pizza, ice cream, and more.....but I want to continue the intentional habits we are wanting to put in place.

So today I took the time to meal plan.  And this time I am taking it a little further.  I am very tired of hearing my girls ask continuously throughout the day, "can I have a snack?".  And part of the problem is that their meals during the day can be spotty, the timing is not consistant, and the amounts are not consistant.  I have not trained their metabolism well I guess (that sounded a little more educated than I am! haha!)  So, this time I am meal planning out the whole day.  Not because I want to run a tight ship.  Those of you who know me know that is not me at all.  But I want to start training ME.  It is going to take me to make this happen so I have to set myself up for success!  And I am also going to try and score some wife points by packing up lunch for Dave each night.  This will help him eat better at work and not come home SO hungry!
The timing for these is going to be:
---Breakfast at 8am
---Snack #1 at 10:30am
---Lunch at 12:30pm
---Snack #2 at 3:30pm
---Dinner at 5:45-6pm

We will see how this week goes.  As I type this my sweet husband is installing a new dishwasher and my kitchen isn't quite where I was hoping it would be for me to do some cooking tonight.  But that is not a problem!  Tomorrow is a great day to cook as well :)

Here's to getting things in order around here!  Loving hunkering down and being Mom and wife!

What are you doing to make the most of the new things you are implementing in your life?  I hope that you are making space for yourself, treating yourself well, and listening in the quiet!

  1. So awesome to be prepared and organized! Can't wait to see the new dishwasher...and I'm pretty sure that I need to come over sometime for some Pumpkin Black Bean soup :). Love your posts! Praying for you.
